HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu police released information regarding a hit-and-run collision on Kamehameha Highway in the Kahuku area that injured a pedestrian on Saturday night.
According to the initial investigation, an unidentified motorist was traveling eastbound on Kamehameha Highway near Burroughs Road at about 7:45 p.m. when the vehicle struck a 38-year-old man who was walking in the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
The driver involved in the collision kept going eastbound on Kamehameha Highway without stopping to render aid or provide information. The person’s identity remains unknown.
At this time, investigators do not know whether speed, alcohol, or drugs were contributing factors in the crash.
