NANAKULI, HI – A teenager riding an E-motorcycle was critically injured in a collision in the Nanakuli area last week.
The Honolulu Police Department released details of the incident, which occurred Feb. 26 at about 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Farrington Highway and Lualualei Naval Road.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a 15-year-old boy was riding an E-motorcycle westbound on Farrington Highway while executing a “wheelie” and broadsided a vehicle making a left turn onto Lualualei Naval Road from eastbound Farrington Highway.
The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old man, was not injured and stayed at the scene.
Investigators said speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash at this time.
