HONOLULU, HI – A driver was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck in the Halawa area last week, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
The accident took place Nov. 20 on the H3 Freeway at about 5:50 p.m. The police department’s traffic division reported that a 29-year-old woman was driving westbound when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old man.
The impact caused the woman’s vehicle to rear-end a 58-year-old male motorist, who then crashed into the back of a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services transported the 29-year-old woman to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. No other injuries were reported.
All other drivers involved stayed at the scene.
Police do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident, but the investigation is ongoing.
